
The first part of this year has been all about the floors inside Number 2 (which is soon to cease being Number 2, as we have applied to have the two houses recategorised as one).
As modelled by my furry assistant, Mr Monty, and in some of the other pictures, you can see the challenges of laying the estimated kilometre of underfloor heating pipes across the floorspace downstairs and upstairs.
This required many days of head scratching, uncoiling, careful laying and precise securing to the floor, all in preparation for the screed pouring which took place this week, and has now encased the orange pipes in their forever home.
I’m rather impatient to feel that heated floor beneath my feet, but sadly I’m going to have to wait quite a bit longer as there’s a tonne more to do before we can connect it all up.
